The wife of ASG-sub leader and notorious bomber Mudzimar “Mundi” Sawadjaan was arrested during a counter terrorist operation in Sulu, the Philippines at dawn last Saturday.
The composite team of Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army conducted a counter-terrorism operation through service of a warrant of arrest against Mudzimar Sawadjaan, an ASG sub-leader, that resulted in the arrest of Fatima Nasser Anilhusra-Sawadjaan, 28 years old, Mundi’s wife.
Reportedly, operatives supposed to serve arrest warrants against Mundi Sawadjaan, who was implicated in some deadly bombings in Sulu in the past years, but he and his cohorts eluded arrest.
Government Forces recovered one MK2 Grenade; two bottles containing suspected ammonium nitrate and fuel oil (ANFO) used both as commercial explosive and in the manufacture of improvised bombs; two pieces of detonating cord; one safety fuse; one Android phone; and two identification cards of Elaida M Jumdail.
The arrested suspect is facing charges of illegal possession of explosives in violation of Republic Act No. 9516, and for violation of Republic Act No. 11479, an act preventing, prohibiting, and penalizing terrorism, according to the police.
